HUB-LESS INLET GUIDE VANE CONTROLS

This version of our radial vane inlet controller is hub-less so that there are no bearings in the gas stream, and no hub with its supporting spokes to attract a build-up of deposits being carried in the gas stream. It is therefore suited to arduous applications involving heat, high dust burden, or 'sticky' fouling.

The blades have minimum cross section area consistent with the mechanical strength required, so that pressure losses through the controller are restricted to a minimum. The blades are mounted in double bearing assemblies which are stood off from the damper body. For high temperature applications, this reduces the amount of heat reaching the bearings. It also prevents any duct side fouling contaminating the bearings.

The operating ring is a rolled and fabricated I section made from stainless steel running on rollers with sintered bronze bushes. Attached to each outer blade shaft is our unique linkage configuration as described in the section on standard IVCs. The operating levers are keyed to the shafts for security and to prevent loss of adjustment.

The unit illustrated has a pneumatic actuator and an electro-pneumatic positioner. However, any type of actuator can be supplied, including manual hand wheel, electric and hydraulic.
