LOUVRE TYPE ISOLATION DAMPERS
As with our control damper design. the frame or case is made by forming channel sections to give integral flanges. This gives strength with minimum weight, coupled with good rigidity. The blades are formed longitudinally for stiffness. These units are normally configured for parallel blade action.
This type of damper is normally supplied with metal ledge type seals, but extruded soft seals or spring leaf type seals are available.
These dampers feature large diameter shafts which are welded to the blades. There is therefore no possibility of the blades becoming detached. The operating levers are keyed to the shafts to guarantee linkage alignment.
The shafts turn in sintered phosphor bronze bushes which can be regarded as zero maintenance. We can also provide PTFE bushes for applications involving food processing or for corrosive environments. For use at elevated temperatures, we fit 4 bolt, self aligning bearings which, together with the linkage, are stood off to allow the unit to be lagged.
The unit illustrated has a hand wheel type manual operator. However, any type of actuator can be supplied, including pneumatic, electric and hydraulic. Powered units are guarded to comply with the CE regulations.
